I'm concerned about my child... What should I do?

Pediatric Therapy Evaluations

Our Evaluations are always highly individualized and comprehensive, and incorporate standardized testing as well as interviews and observations in all relevant settings, such as schools, daycare centers and afterschool activities.

●  Following your call or email, you will be contacted by a therapist to discuss your concerns and develop an evaluation plan.

●  Evaluations generally take place over the course of two 60 minute sessions at the clinic and/or home depending on the needs of the family and child.

●  Testing includes clinical observations and standardized testing. It may include specialized testing, such as the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test.

●  Observations may also be conducted in the community, at home or in the child’s school.

●  Results of the evaluation, including a preliminary report, will be discussed and goals developed in a separate meeting with the family.

●  A final copy of the report is mailed to the family.

Pediatric Therapy Treatment

Therapy duration and frequency varies according to the needs of the child. Services are tailored to meet the changing needs of the child and provided in the setting that best addresses current issues, whether they're at home, school or in the community. Parent and caregiver education and training are an integral part of each treatment session.

Services are generally delivered individually. Small social skills groups are provided depending on the availability of suitable peers.

Treatment methods vary depending on the needs of the child, but may include: Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Sensory Integrative Treatment, Assistive technology, the Listening Program, Kineseotaping and Manual therapy techniques.
