2. We will wash hands at start and completion of sessions

3. Please let us know if you or your child has COVID and we will follow the CDC protocols.

What's the process?
From your first call to the office, you can expect to be treated with respect and with a genuine concern for the well being of your child and the needs of your family. From our office manager to our interns, we care about your child and want you to feel comfortable and confident that you have made the right choice in service providers.

We promise to:

  1. Include you in each step of the process, and invite you to attend therapy sessions to better understand our approach, ask questions, express concerns and implement strategies in your home.

  2. Listen carefully to your concerns about your child and develop a plan to address them in therapy or help you find a professional who can best address the issue.

  3. Develop a deep understanding of your child, his or her strengths and the areas that be developed to improve their quality of life. We want to know what makes your child “tic”, what brings them joy and what causes their struggle. We do this through speaking to the child, to you, to other family member and to teachers and other professional involved in their care (with your consent).

How do I get started?

  1. You need to get a prescription from your pediatrician, developmental pediatrician or neurologist.

  2. Call the office and speak with our office manager Christopher Wilson at 610-625-4404. He will take down all of the basic information, so you’ll need your insurance card ready.

  3. Chris will check your insurance for visit limits, preauthorization requirements, exclusions, deductible, and copays.

  4. Chris will call you within 48 hours to discuss you benefits and schedule an appointment for an evaluation with one of our therapists if a spot is available at the time you need.

  5. You will be advised that a parent meeting is part of our process, and is not covered by insurance. You will need to pay for this privately, the fees will depend on how long you need to discuss the evaluations finding and can last from 15 minutes to an hour or more.

  6. If you have an evaluation report from another therapist within the past 6 months, we can begin treatment immediately.

Chris has verified my insurance, what’s the next step?

  1. If you are having an evaluation, you will be scheduled for a 60 minute visit for a Speech and Language or a physical therapy evaluation, or a 90 minute visit for an Occupational Therapy evaluation.

  2. You will receive an email from our EMR system JANE with a link to create an account and complete initial paperwork.

  3. You may be asked to complete a standardized questionnaire about language, sensory processing, or behavior. This will be emailed to you via Q Global.

What happens at the evaluation?

  1. Your child’s therapist may want to speak to you about your concerns at your appointment during the first part of the visit.

  2. Your child will accompany the therapist to the testing area. You are usually welcome to observe the evaluation with your child, although the therapist may ask you to wait outside if there are issues with attention or behavior with you present.

  3. The therapist will conduct standardized testing and clinical observations in the treatment room and in our sensory gym, most often for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy evaluations.

  4. The evaluation appointment will end with scheduling of the parent meeting, during which the therapist will discuss his/her findings and develop a plan for treatment if applicable. This may take place in person or over the phone.

  5. Your therapist will schedule therapy if recommended, usually at the parent meeting.

What happens during therapy?

  1. You are invited to attend sessions, unless your therapist needs time to establish rapport with your child or if they focus better with some 1:1 time with the therapist.

  2. The therapist will take the last few minutes to write the therapy note and discuss progress with you, if you’ve not attended the session. You will receive notification that a note has been shared with you by email.
